Ayaneo’s Retro Mini PC Now Available: Ryzen 3 3200U For $149 & Ryzen 7 5700U For $219

Ayaneo's Retro Mini PC that's themed after the Apple Macintosh is now available and starts at $149 US for the Ryzen 3 variant.

Ayaneo first unveiled its retro-themed consoles earlier this month which include a range of hand-helds and Mini PC designs. There's something for everyone to select from and the company just went live with its first retro-themed product, the Retro Mini PC which is amply named AM01 and comes with a decent set of specifications given its pricing. There are limited units available so do keep that in mind.

Starting with the design, the Ayaneo AM01 comes in a small chassis that resembles the Macintosh and measures 132x132x60.5 mm while weighing 486 grams. Within this small chassis, you get two options, the Ryzen 3 3200U which features 2 cores, 4 threads, a clock frequency of up to 3.5 GHz & the Radeon Vega 3 graphics so a very entry-level design. The second option is the better one with a Ryzen 7 5700U APU, offering 8 cores, 16 threads, a clock frequency of up to 4.3 GHz, and a Radeon Vega 8 graphics chip that operates at 1900 MHz.

The whole unit comes equipped with an active-fan cooling solution that is designed to offer 35W of thermal dissipation power. The heatsink comes equipped with four copper heat pipes with a total aluminum fin area of 60008.0mm2.

In terms of memory, you get expandable options up to 64 GB DDR4, storage options include up to 2 TB capacities through a PCIe 3.0 M.2 slot and a single SATA III interface. I/O includes WIFI6, Blue-tooth 5.2, a USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C, 3 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, a single USB 2.0 port, HDMI 2.0, DP 1.4, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a single 1 GbE Ethernet LAN port, and a DC power connector. The Ayaneo AM01 features a 12V 6A/7A power rating.

The Ayaneo AM01 Mini PC starts at $149 US for the AMD Ryzen 3 3200U and $219 US for the AMD Ryzen 7 5700U variant. It is a better choice to invest in the Ryzen 7 5700U variant as you will get a lot better performance in the same power package.
