Upgrading another old Apple laptop, the login screen avatars keep getting closer!
The laptop started on MacOS Sierra. I updated it to Mojave, which resulted in the avatar images on the login screen getting larger. I then updated it to Monterey (the latest it could handle - I know it's still out of date but at least Chrome now updates) and they got larger again. It's like a cat stalking, it stops moving every time it's being observed!
